DR. SURYA DEB CHAKRABORTY
SENIOR ANALYST
Dr. Surya Deb Chakraborty is part of ESRI India and works as a senior analyst. Before joining ESRI India, he worked in many organizations like ICRISAT (International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics) under the UN, the National Remote Sensing Center (NRSC, ISRO), MNCFC (Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Centre), Regional Remote Sensing Center (ISRO) and IISC-ISRO space technology cell.
He completed his PhD in geo-engineering from the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC, ISRO) at Andhra University and his M.Tech from the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS, ISRO). He also completed his M.Sc. in geography from CSJM University Kanpur and a diploma in RS and GIS from Jadavpur University.
In 2015, he received a Young Scientist fellowship award from KIT, Germany. His area of interest is urban anthropogenic heat flux estimation, watershed management, and agriculture applications using optical and microwave data. He primarily handles advanced remote sensing data processing, such as thermal, hyperspectral, LiDAR, and microwave.
